Trinidad and Tobago identifies Second Case of COVID-19

On March 13 at 7:44 pm the second case of COVID-19 has been identified in Trinidad and Tobago. A 66 year old male who travelled within the last 14 days presented with symptoms at a public health centre. This comes just one day after the identification of the first case.

The patient was tested and isolated and tracing has begun for that patient.

No information has been given to the public on where the patient travelled or the flights that the patient would have taken.

This comes after the Prime Minister, Dr Keith Rowley, announced that all schools and Universities are to be closed for one week in an attempt to slow the spread of the virus. The Prime Minister is also urging businesses to look at their sick policies and to be flexible with workplace arrangements and to allow people to work from home where feasible.
