With just 2 weeks to go to Carnival 2020 in Trinidad and Tobago there are very few contenders for the Road March prize. Unless there is a late entrant to the race, there are really only two possibilities right now and both of them are collaborations with one common element – Iwer George.
The general feeling is that it is time for Iwer George to win Road March again. The only time that he won Road March was back in 2000 when he tied with Super Blue. At that time Iwer George sang “Carnival Come Back Again”.

Iwer George and Machel Montano put their feud aside from last year, to collaborate with Skinny Fabulous to release “Conch Shell”. While some persons like the collab, an equal number of persons cannot stand it and the video with the odd wining shell does not help. Everyone agrees that the conch man blowing the shell is the best part of the song. We will admit the song performed live, does move the crowd.
The second song however, is the front runner. “Stage Gone Bad” by Kes and Iwer George has had the best crowd response in fetes at the moment. Iwer is also in the finals for International Soca Monarch, so he will be looking to do a double. Some people were disappointed that Kes came in second last year with Savannah Grass and he has never won a Road March crown. Therefore a two-for-one sounds good! Will someone release a late song or will we see Iwer and Kes become the 2020 Road March champions?
