Sahara Dust Feb 2020

The Trinidad and Tobago Meterological Office has indicated that there will be a significant amount of Sahara Dust in the atmosphere in the coming week. Persons who are prone to respiratory issues should be taking the appropriate precautions and monitoring their situation actively.

When the EMA Air Quality Index was checked for Jan 31st 2020 the air quality was in the orange zone at 123.

The full statement by the Met office is below:

Saharan dust update (1st February): A significant amount of Saharan dust is currently in our area and is likely to maintain a presence through the upcoming week.

Some fluctuation is expected during the week, but dust levels are still expected to remain relatively significant, especially for persons that are sensitive. Please be advised accordingly.#ttmetervice #TrinidadandTobago #Saharandust
