For a number of years in Trinidad and Tobago schools there has been a problem with students consuming edibles (food laced with Marijuana). Brownies are usually the most popular food however there are other foods which appear in school with marijuana.
There has apparently been an upsurge in the consumption which may be tied to the legalization of marijuana consumed by adults at home. Children are experimenting even more with edibles and bringing it to school to share with classmates.
In some instances the students have been suffering side effects after consuming the edibles and have been taken to the hospital for treatment.
The TTPS issued a news release about recent incidents in both the Central and North divisions within the last 24 hours.
